Dr. Jamie Horner
(formerly Dr. Jamie Bjerkhoel)

Dr. Jamie Horner was born and raised in the small town of Truckee, California.  Dr. Horner attended Tahoe Truckee High School and following graduation, decided to move to the warmer side of California.  Dr. Horner earned a bachelors degree in Biology from the University of California Santa Cruz with an emphasis in human anatomy and physiology.  Dr. Horner graduated Magna Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in 2009 and is a member of the Phi Delta Chiropractic Honor Society for outstanding academic achievement.

At Palmer West, Dr. Horner was an active member of the well known Sports Council where she volunteered in many sporting events including the Sea Otter Classic held at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, CA.  Working side by side emergency medical technicians and chiropractic clinicians, Dr. Horner provided care for competing athletes throughout the events.  Dr. Horner also voluntarily provided chiropractic care to patients in outreach clinics including Salvation Army Rehabilitation Clinic and the Emergency Housing Consortium Clinic located in San Jose, CA.  Upon graduation, Dr. Horner spent two years at Sports & Orthopedic Leaders Santa Cruz where she was a treating physician for the Santa Cruz Roller Derby Girls and volunteered time treating the players at their home games in Santa Cruz.

After suffering a low back injury at the age of 13, Dr. Horner was introduced to the exciting field of chiropractic.  Feeling frustrated with traditional western medicine's approach to dealing with back pain, she decided to give chiropractic a try.  Within a matter of weeks, she began to feel significant pain relief and improvement in her flexibility and range of motion in her low back.  Chiropractic care changed her life and has given her the experience and opportunity to share this natural approach to health care with others.  Dr. Horner is keenly focused on each individual patient and strives to provide personalized care based off each patient's needs and goals.  She is Full Body Certified in Active Release Techniques® and is a Graston® Technique provider.  In addition to traditional chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Horner treats soft tissue as an integral part of proper spinal biomechanics.
